I actually think I have a good sense of style.
Here we are not talking about “fashion”; I don’t care about that. I’m talking about “style”. Style is about what you create for yourself, your body, and your life. Fashion is someone else’s creativity. Style is yours.
And I like to flaunt my style. And I like to flaunt the fact that I don’t give a shit about fashion.
But more seriously, there are three more important reasons I put up the Pinterest board:
First, when I first transitioned, everyone kept asking me what I wear. So I put the Pinterest board up to show them. I think they were concerned I’d have no clue. Truth is, I didn’t have a clue—had to figure a lot out the hard way—but I have a good sense of aesthetics and I think it shows.
Second, it reinforced my still fragile feminine identity. A year and a half later this identity is much stronger than when I started the Pinterest board, partially because I took the nerve to post pictures of myself.
Finally, I am really damn proud of who I am and how far I’ve come.
Perhaps every girl needs a fashion blog?
